In this episode, we talk to Daniel McCollister about the crossover between technology and the landscape. Daniel is the gardener and entrepreneur behind CropSwap. Dan noticed that he had an overabundance of certain items growing in his garden, but still had to buy other produce from a conventional grocery store. Grocery store food is expensive. It’s often sprayed with chemicals and shipped all over the world, wasting costly resources to create marginal produce. Dan knew there had to be a better way to eat fresh, locally grown food from a community of his peers. With a bit of brainstorming, the idea for a building a network for local growers to interact and share their grows with their community was born.
